Mattocks has read into this Dr Smith Artlcle many things it does not say. I have repeatedly sent him messages stating so that he ignors The Dr Smith article only claims that Thomas Harris d1677 was a son of Sgt John Harris without mentioning that he was a London Merchant, inherited the Charles City Plantation of his brother in 1663 and was hung by Gov William Berkeley in Jan 1677 and without any documentation to prove his claim. The Article does mention an 28 yr old Thomas Harris in 1864 but makes no further references to him. I obtained this as a "Virginia Genealogist" subscriber. There are other documented parents for this Thomas Harris d177 in England, but there are no Charles City records that name any of his children.

I’ve tweaked the “about” for John Harris. Are the relationships clear enough? For Harris researchers it might be good to reference more what became of his son John Harris as best we know at this time.

Erica, I''ve been getting several bitching comments from a Michael Kelly who received one of my Sgt John Harris Comments as a direct affront to him, He claims no knowledge of his beng a manager of this Sgtr John Harris Profile, and no connecttion to Sgt John Harris other than a daughter Dorothy Bond Cobb, daughter of John Bond and Dorothy Harris as shown in their GENI Profile, When I explained to him that John Bond had died in 1668 not naming this daughter Dorothy in his will and that Dorothy Harris Bond did not name a daughter Dorothy in her 1684 Will and was a widow over 50 years old, he became unglues and started acting paranoied.
His latest message:
You again?!!! After I asked nicely for you to stop contacting me, youh ave again sent me an aggressive message. I believe your behavior has now crossed the line into cyber-stalking and harassment, particularly since you initiated this string of communications. I did not seek you out. I am usually polite and courteous to strangers on the internet but I suspend that rule for people who demonstrate questionable mental stability. Your behavior in these messages now puts you in that category as far as I'm concerned.
I will state again what I have already communicated to you:
1. I was not aware of either this Sgt. John Harris nor that I was a profile manager before you contacted me. I only stated what Geni showed when I curiously looked at what this matter was about. Nonetheless, you sent me a very hostile message.
2. In my first message to you, I told you I have no stake in this person and you should do whatever needed to sort out this troubled Harris family. Yet you attacked me as though I was trying to take some aggressive action towards you. I thought my message was rather anodyne and yet you keep attacking me.
Let me be clear to you: DO WHAT YOU WISH WITH THIS SGT. JOHN HARRIS! I don't care about him because he is inconsequential to me. And I don't care about you either because you're inconsequential, except for your continued cyber-harassment.
I don't know why you have acted so aggressively towards me but I think you may need to seek help regarding your behavior. That's your problem and not mine, as long as you leave me alone.

I sugested to him that he remove himself as a Manager of the Sgt John Harris Profile. but he continues his paranoia, I have also send a message to the Manager of the Dorothy Bond Cobb Profile to remove her a a daughter of Major John Bond and Dorothy Harris, Perhaps you have the authority to remove this Michael Kelly as a Manager for Sgt John Harris. He claims no knowledge of his being such which I find hard to believe.

So, I am putting you on notice: stop cyber-stalking and harassing me or I will take whatever action I need to draw attention to your aggressive behavior on this web site. This is your 2nd and last warning.

Geni volunteer curators do not have the rights to remove profile managers, but managers can remove themselves.

The process is to go to the profile view (not tree view). Click “manager options.” Find your name, there will be an x next to it. Click the X, confirm. That will end any notifications as well.

If anyone has difficulty with this, let me know, and I will open a ticket with Geni Customer Support.

I have also cleaned up the family of Dorothy Bond which should help clarify the genealogy.
