Judging by the Timelines in this record, it seems reasonable to surmise that Ira Cowles and Capt. Amasa Cowles are the children born to Amasa's first wife, Sybil, and that Lucy (North) married Pvt. Amasa Cowles after Sybil's death (ca. 1771...1778). Is that a reasonable conclusion?
I would like to know the maiden name of (Amasa's first wife) Sybil, since it couldn't be North; Sybil North married Amasa's older brother, Samuel, who lived until 1815.
