1) Look at all the slaves....
2) Most of the land was in under the control of a rather few numbers of families
3) Property acreage of individual land holders was fairly high

4) If there were 91 blacks in the census of 178x... .... I notice a discrepancy between how many were slaves on the farm and the total number in the county. This makes me wonder how many children of the slaves on the big farms were counted..

Example: Say a landowner was taxed for 2 slaves. Does this mean there were no slave children on the farm? I would think that in some cases there were...
