His conection to Rav Chaim ben Sinai is based in this book

the book is Otzar Harabanim and the Abenei Tzion denies it with proof. translation:

The translation is a bit difficult to follow. Do you want me to disconnect Gabriel Spitz from the parents Haim ben Sinai and Krasna?

Yes. The maharal family weren't LEVITES. But Gabriel Spitz was Levi.. The levi status goes from father to son.So Chaim Ben Sinai was not Gabriel Spitz fath
