I have just discovered significant details about my grandmother Margaret Lenehan and I am keen to continue to discover more of my relatives in the Concar line of my family. Margaret was born in Turloughmore and left for New York in 1910 twenty years old.She followed her four sisters to New York. Margaret married Terence Lenehan in NewYork, they lived on Amsterdam Ave. My father Jack John Lenehan was their eldest child, born in New York in 1919. Unfortunately the couple had to return home to Annaduff in Leitrim and they did not return to America. Margaret left her four sisters there and my grandfather left his brother and three sisters there. I have just discovered a lot of this detail on my Concar family recently. My great Concar aunts all married and lived and died in New York and I believe they all had children. I am keen to discover more about these relatives who we know so little about. My Lenehan Grandparents, Margaret and Terence had five other children, all deceased now. Poor Margaret died when she was only 44 yrs in 1934 leaving behind all her young children and devoted husband Terence. The youngest of the children was Annie who was only 4 yrs when her mother died. Annie went on to grow up to a fine lady and married Jim Reynolds a business man and hotelier in Longford Town. My Lenehan side of the family are from Co Armagh as my father Jack John Lenehan married a girl from Poyntzpass Co Armagh, Margaret nee Daly and they settled in Lurgan where they had a family of 11 children. Our family tree is on this geni site and I have connected bith the Concar and Lenehan family. Would love to hear from my Concar family and look forward to further exploration. Gerard Lenehan, grandson of Margaret Concar.
