Does anyone have any documentation of this? I found a marriage bond in Mecklenburg County, VA for John Stell intending to marry Suzzy Malone. It was filed as John Shell-Lizzy Malone, but upon examining the image, I'm sure the "t" in Stell is identical to the "t" at the beginning of just about every "the" in the document, and the "S" at the beginning of Suzzy is identical to the "S" at the beginning of Stell, and the "u" in Suzzy sure doesn't look like any "i" in the document. Dated 28th day of May 1786...
Which actually helps explain some things. The children of John STELL Jr. are as follows:
1. John Dennis b. 1765
2. Robert Malone b. 1767
3. Martha b. 1768
4. Sarah b. 1773
5. Mary b. 1775
6. John Wesley III b. 1776
7. Susannah b. 1778
8. George William b. 1787
9. James Wesley b. 1789
Why so much time between Susannah and George William? But G. W. b. ~1 year after John and Susannah marry would make perfect sense. And if John's previous wife was one of Susannah's sisters, such as Sarah? That would then explain the Robert Malone Stell as the 2nd child. So I'm just wondering, does anyone have better documentation than a mis-transcribed marriage bond from 20+ years too late?
