This sight is wrong it is saying this Henry Chamberlin is my 7th cousin 11 times removed. which he isn't. He is my 8th.gr.grandfather. So this makes no sense on how the site calculates your relationship to a person. Just wanted to let people know so you can check and make sure you're not getting false info too.

Hi Private

Please read this page for a description of how the Geni relationship calculator works:

https://www.geni.com/projects/Working-with-Relationships/17570

And I’ll take a look and see if the calculator needs refreshing.

I found the error and fixed it.

Henry 'the Blacksmith' Chamberlain is Beverly Anice Chamberlin's 8th great grandfather.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Eric for your quick response to my issue. I'm happy it is now reading correctly and I hope this might help others who were having the same issue.

Most issues on geni can be reconciled. Starting a discussion from profile, as you did, is really good, because there’s a “paper trail” of the error and the fix that stays with the profiles.

In this case William Chamberlain, of Hull had been shown as a son of a different Henry Chamberlin.

There’s a comment in Henry (the blacksmith’s) profile that might explain why this can get confusing:

“People who trace their ancestry to Henry should acquaint themselves with the article that finally clarified the understanding of this immigrant entitled "The Two Henry Chamberlins of Hingham, Massachusetts: 1636-1649," by David Conrad Chamberlin, Sr., published in the New England Historical and Genealogical Register, (Vol. 139, Apr. 1985, pp. 126-138)
