It has been claimed that Isobell Lyon, here treated, is the daughter of Archibald Lyon but no proof has been offered. https://babel.hathitrust.org/cgi/pt?id=hvd.32044081265662;view=1up;... https://archive.org/details/peeragebaronetag02fost/page/105
In this regard it should be noticed, however, that Archibald Lyon had no sons to succeed him when he died in 1587, and, consequently, all of his property in Glasgow passed to his three surviving daughters, Marion, Jonet and Helen Lyon. https://archive.org/details/abstractsofproto10glas/page/26
It would appear, therefore, that Isobell Lyon was not his daughter. Certainly, she did not succeed to any of Archibald’s property in Glasgow, and evidence which can confirm, or might otherwise tend to suggest that she had a child or children who inherited in place of their mother has not been found.
If all the managers agree, I would like to disconnect Isobell Lyon from the family tree of Archibald Lyon and Margaret Dunlop.
