In the obit of Mary's mother Anna Heltgen (Hilkin) Traut wife of Jacob Traut it says she and her parents emmigrated from Lux. Germany in 1846 too late for the 1845 Iowa state cesnsus. Both parents died before her marriage to Jacob in 1848. No burial records have been found at Mount Calvary or The Third Street Cemetary. The third street Cemetary interments were supposely moved to Mount Olivate Cemetary, but an artical in the Telegraph Herald news paper, and the law suit indicates differently.
The 1860 census list Anna's brothers Jacob and Peter as Heltgen
Jacob's descendents spell it Hilkin
Peter's descendents spell it Hilken
Anna's marriage document of 1846 lists her maiden name as Hilgen
The county roads department also spell it Hilken
We are still waiting for copies of marriage records from St Raphiels Cathedral for Anna's sisters
