@Alex Christopher Bickle

Hello Alex,

How are you doing? I am doing fine myself.

Can you verify if Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's grandfather or great-grandfather had relatives in Trinidad that had originally migrated from Martinique or another island? My father told my mother Lew Alcindor was his cousin. However, he never explained the direct family blood connection. Also, supposedly Lew Alcindor visited us in Tampa, Florida in 1971 when he was still playing with Milwaukee....this was told to my brother and I by our mother, Annie. It was also later verified by my older sister, Gennice whom was 10 or 11 years old at the time he visited us. It was a unannounced visit and no pics were taken. I have been trying to verify this info via Kareem since 1998. I sent him 3 handwritten letters to his 3 addresses in LA back in 1998. I never received those letters back...so I assumed somebody received them but to this day the visit still hasn't been confirmed. Last thing, I was a pre-mature baby born when my mother was 6 months pregnant and Lew supposedly paid my hospital bill.

Also, can you tell me if and how are the Alcindor's from Martinique and Trinidad connected via their family trees? My great-grandfather; Phillipe (Jabez) Alcindor was born in Martinique and that he had Alcindor relatives migrate to other Caribbean islands, Trinidad, Haiti, Guadeloupe, etc.

Note: My great-grandfather and his siblings migrated from Martinique to Dominica in the early 1900s due to the Mt Pelee volcano erupting in Martinique in 1902; therefore, upon arrival to Dominica, the British government changed the "I" in Alcindor to an "e" (Alcendor)....this is why all of my relatives surname of Alcendor from my Great-Grandfather and his siblings that were born in Dominica are different from our other relatives born in Trinidad, Haiti, etc.

thank you
