The name Blake, though, is supposed in this instance to come from Richard’s dark complexion. But the dates are impossible and not much is making sense.

Got it. Someone confused Richard Cadell (Blake) with Richard, son of Curthose, and gave impossible dates.

Am cleaning things up, adding source link, and generally making things make sense.
