I am Teresa Lynn Luck (born June 21, 1959 in San Diego, California)...the daughter of Albértina Josefine Pedrin (born May 20, 1937? in San Diego, California who's father was Albérto Pedrin (born in 1888 came from Ensenada, Baja California) Albérto Pedrin had traveled on wagon-wheel with his mother and two siblings (a half brother and half sister)...all three children had different fathers as I was told by my mother (Albértina went by the nicname Betina)...Albérto her father traveled throughout California and Baja California as his mother was a "Cook" for th mining camps...Albérto grew up becomming a "Prospector" after being a lunch-boy to bring food to the men working the mines...he was always told to stand outside the mines because of some mines collapsing @ times.Later as Albérto worked the mines he in charge of trying to bring profits to MeXici...an artucle was published in the San Diego Union Tribune Newspaper as he gave an interview of how he operated the mines. My mother told me he joined the MeXican Army and later became tbe Tijuane Chief-of Police in 1932...anotber man tried to oust him on his position so they went outside and had a gunfight. My grandfather won and kept his position as so the story was told to me. I feel like a "living legend" to get to tell and share a true story out of the wild wild west...after my grandfather took the Chief-of-Police position a female cousin of my mothers was kidnapped and held for ransom...my mother said the ransom was something lime $10,000.00...the money was paid...the girl was not harmed...the kidnappers returned her but they never found out who the kidnappers were. After two years as Chief-of -Police my grandfatjer decided to "Resign" ad he said in the newspaper interview..."It Became Too Irksome" (crazy)...so he went on to work in security @ Calienté Race Track...as he finally retired he came back to San Diego, California and had a shoe shop business...@ one time he owned an international clothing store in Calexico and invested a lot of money in business' throughout Baja California...the original descendants of his family originated from San Jõse del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas (raised purebred race horses/sugar cane...restraunts and banks...mistly of Spanish and Basque descent. I love all the history and stories my mother shared with me...for more information go to the San Diego Union Tribune Newspaper archives to read the great interview.

*I hope my spelling is okay---Sincerely, Teresa Luck as told to me by Betina Pedrin-Luck

My next story will be about when Albérto was a little boy (about 10-11 years old)...he and a friend wanted to go to Arizona...Albêrto wanted to visit his real father...so as my mother told me...he and his friend jumped on a train and hid in a barrel to get a ride to Arizona on the train..
