Roger,
I've removed Thomas from this family as they do appear to be Linton, not Sinton (originals not checked) and their Thomas was born Mar 1788 Rothesay, Bute.
Your Thomas was born Sunup, Lauder 1785.
For some reason I can't edit John LINTON's profile to shift him back to Rothesay, nor to add the correct Thomas.

Hi Lorna

I have disconnected my George Linton from the Sinton line, as it is just plain wrong. Feel free to change all my mistakes to what you are convinced of, as a lot of my sources were other trees, many with unsupported facts. My George Linton, it turns out, is descended from the Lintons of Crayke, Yorkshire, and not Scotland. This I have just confirmed with DNA.
