While searching for my ancestor i also found a couple of discrepancies , I Just contact the admin of profile and correction was done .

I subscribe to MyHeritage and when adding dates they always alert one to the fact the bride is 14 years old (which we know too often is probable) or younger OR if the gap is too large they alert one. One can then check where the mistake has been made. Can Geni not do this as well??

Smart Copy Consistency Check does that. It's great, and you can set the age you want an alert on.

Geni does warn if the age difference is "too big" for a spouse. I also have a few discrepancies in my tree. One ancestor is married to 2 men with the same name. I believe one is her son! Regardless, if I can't find evidence to the contrary I just leave things as they are 😊. Just as long as it doesn't change the fact that Dracula is my 6th cousin countless times removed 😆.

What concerns me is that, I do quite bit of research before adding someone onto my profile.
Someone else just comes and changes names and dates without any consultation.
It is extremely frustrating.

Cecil, If that happens, and your info has primary sources uploaded, you just have to yell to me and I'll come and MP the profile and lock the data.

As you know some other people have experienced this and were discouraged. But this is why knowing this can be done is important to people to know.

From my own experience, you have to get their details into your family tree and invite them to your tree.

Has your tree been set to private or public?

Johannes: not sure what you mean in your second sentence.
I agree that there are individuals who are either possessive or some profiles or who mess up but these can be anywhere not jsut form SA. On balance, I think the majority do their best to enter accurate data but often best guesses hoping for more later corrections.
