My 2nd cousin is my family's descendant down the male line of Hughes's. My Hughes's came from a female from the same line, so we both have the same Hugh Hughes as a great grandparent. Legend passed down is that these Hughes lived in Llysfaen and had generations of Hughes buried at St Cynfrans in Llysfaen. Funnily 23and Me dna analysis doesn't give us a strong link to Wales. Any links to any of you?

Jean,

It would be worth taking a look at the L371 project page with ftdna. I am an L371 member and have been in contact with Sean Thomas who is the admin for the project page. Current data points to the L371 being from the Cornovii tribe of now Powys/ Shropshire area that was dispersed by the Romans around 47AD.
