Until I see proof of her maiden name, I am going to post a few discussions End researchers have had about her name
QUOTING : " I really don't know of any real good evidence that Violet had a maiden name of Couch or Crouch except for tradition among genealogists. I don't dismiss it or accept it either way. I know Daniel and Violet sold land to Ambrose Coffee. Within Ambrose Coffee's household was a tithable named Francis Crouch, but I could never make a connection from there. Forgot which tax year that was, think about 1790 or so and forgot which county without searching for it. I could never identify who Francis Crouch's parents were. I was always of the opinion that maybe Ailsey wife of Ambrose Coffee was a sister to Violet and maybe Francis was a brother to the two, but could never prove it. "

Hope, sorry, email doesn't show humor much. I was joking.

What we also know is that there were Crouches (various spellings) living not far from the Williams in Virginia.

1738 Prince William Co VA Quit Rent Rolls is a Wm. Crouch

In Augusta County in 1753 there is a John Crouch as is a John Anderson.

This page might have errors but is one possible starting point:

There is this:

I did find somebody who has transcribed volumes 3 and 4 and is selling
them. In her index to volume 3, she lists these Couches - "Stutter"
John, Andy, Austin, Charlie, Dick, Eli, Ira, James, Joe, John, Lige,
Martin, Phoebe, Polly, Sally, Sallie, Thomas, and William. I believe
that most of these came from Perry County. There is a single Crouch
("Brother") in volume 4.

A couple of years I posted this reference from a book called "A
History of Kentucky" (1922): "Violett Couch was an aunt of Jeff Couch,
a prominent citizen of Morgan County, whose sons Squire Kelse and A.J.
Couch were leading farmers of the County. Daniel Williams was the
first white man to cut a tree at West Liberty, and he built the first
cabin on what is now known as mainstreet..." Jefferson's father was
Andrew, whose father was Martin (in book above), and whose father was
"big " John. Jefferson was born ca. 1845, making it impossible for
Violet to be his aunt. John was born in ca. 1750. Maybe Violet was
Jefferson's great, great aunt but John did have seven daughters and
none were named Violet.

"There was a fellow named Rolly or Raliegh Crouch who shows up several times on military lists with Edward Williams, Nicholas Anderson, John Harper etc. I don't know what happened to him after those days."

"AMBROSE COFFEE said in sworn testimony that he came to Caintuck in
the year 1776 and in the year 1777 came to reside in Boonesborough
where he continued to reside until 1784 or 1785 and while living
there frequently hunted on Howard's Creek & 4-Mile Creek. He also
said in sworn testimony that he became well acquained with EDWARD
WILLIAMS, NICHOLAS ANDERSON and JOHN HARPER in the latter part of
1779 and the beginning of the year 1780. He said sometime in the
year 1780 he was out hunting with EDWARD, JOHN and EDWARD'S son
DANIEL when they lodged the night in EDWARD'S preemption cabin on
the headwaters of Little Mountain Creek (the cabin that EDWARD built
to procure the land on LULBEGRUD).

This proves that DANIEL WILLIAMS s/o EDWARD was in CAINTUCK by
1780... and (2) that he, DANIEL WILLIAMS, was KNOWN to AMBROSE
COFFEE in 1780 as EDWARD WILLIAMS' son. This ONE sworn statement
ALONE should have been enough YEARS AGO to quash the erroneous
claim about TEW & MLE being the parents of Elder DANIEL WILLIAMS...
but, NO...some folks still don't, to this day, BELIEVE that EDWARD
of Lulbegrud s/o WILLIAM of Westmoreland was REALLY REALLY the
father of DANIEL. Makes me TIRED.

So, we KNOW that AMBROSE COFFEE was personally acquainted with
DANIEL WILLIAMS as early as 1780. Did DANIEL WILLIAMS marry 1786
AMBROSE COFFEE'S step-daughter? Somebody claimed AMBROSE COFFEE
married a widow woman...was SHE the mother of FRANCIS & VIOLET?
WHY did DANIEL & VIOLET sell to AMBROSE & AILSEY [ ? ] COFFEE
part of their part of EDWARD & JEMIMAH'S land? I sure wish I
knew...LSH"
