DNA into children

I connected my FTDNA DNA test to my profile just fine, and the Y-DNA results were populated up into my paternal ancestors line properly. Excellent.

Today I added my descendants, including 2 male children. It seems that my Y-DNA results are NOT populating "downward". Is this by design? Or is it just a timing issue?
