Note: profiles can no longer be added to country portal projects

Geni no longer allows profiles to be added to country portal projects because it spams notifications to thousands of users who we suggested join that project (and it's a bad idea to try to add everyone who ever lived in a country to a single project). If you want to add profiles to geographic projects, we recommend creating sub-projects for each province, state, etc.
