perla morgenstern and Pinchas Leibish Morgenshtern. There were no children of reb menachem mendel morgenstern-the kozker rebbe.the kozker rebbe always spoke the truth, and so he educated his children, so my father educated me.
As a direct descendant of him, I feel insulted when people falsify their belonging to our family.

Haim - see the profile of Perla Morgenstern (cut and paste below). It looks like there is a birth record for the town of Kock for Perla with parents Mendel and Chaya Morgansztern.

As found in the JewishGen.Org Polish Records: Kock BMD 1826-65,67-75,77 Lublin Gubernia / Lublin Province Located at 51°38’ 22°27’ Last updated July 2009

It is very strange that no source mentions that Perla was the daughter of the Kozker Rebbe, but I could not verify anywhere that Pinchas Leibish was indeed the son of Reb
menachem mebdel
As a direct and true descendant of him , I would be happy to see evidence

Here are the SEVEN children listed in The Unbroken Chain, Third Edition:

I am going to detach Pinchas Leibush. He may belong on the tree, even in this family, but not with these parents and not with a birthdate of 1840.

3/16/2019 at 2:31 PM

There is no Pinchas Morgensztern in The Unbroken Chain Vol. III.

3/16/2019 at 2:32 PM

Well there is one, but from the late 20th century...

Hatte Blejer,
Thank you very much for the wonderful work you did, and for the effort you invested.
By the way, reb menachem mendel had more children with his first wife, unfortunately they died as babies, except, dovid which is( as you know), my great-grandfather
On behalf of the dovid morgenstern family, I thank you very much

You're welcome. Interesting. I wondered how there weren't more children from the first wife.

3/16/2019 at 3:46 PM

Yankel Siegal is supposedly the son of Perla Morgenshtern. I have emailed the manager to ask for sources for this since there is no marriage and no descendants listed for Perla Morgenshtern in The Unbroken Chain and other branches are unaware of her or her descendants.

I haven't detached the Siegal branch however, but I wonder about the geography Kock (Kotzk) versus Brest-Litvosk, Belarus.

3/16/2019 at 3:49 PM

Also Perla was born 1842. Yankel Siegal was born circa 1855. At least in the Polish and Belarus families I deal with, brides were usually 17 and older in this era.

As I wrote to you, if they had a daughter by that name, she died at an early age, did not get married, did not have children, so she is not mentioned anywhere, so my father never mentioned her. In my family there are those who did a great Research on the family, And none of them have heard of perla

3/16/2019 at 4:06 PM

Also, the children are from Brest-Litovsk which is a ways from Kock (Kotzk). I tried to find information about them and their descendants on Jewish Gen, but haven't found anything that makes sense.

hatte, you asked about the chidren of reb menachem from his first wife:
This was what happened: the children of reb menachem mendel with his firs wife died when they were babies, except Reb Dovid, who was their oldest child, was also very ill and for a long time lay in bed. When my great-grandmother died, reb menachem mourned her very much, His eldest Hasid (and his best friend), who later became the first gur admor suggested that he married his wife's sister, he married her, from this marriage were born twins ( who married with Bornstein and Rapaport and two sons. After reb menachem mendel died ,His half brothers and sisters left the Kotz chasidot , each of the brothers, and the brothers-in-law set up a separate chasidot , and Reb Dovid remained in Kotz and was the second admor of kozk

Thank you for all this information. Stories about these families are rich additions to the profiles and trees.

Hatte,First of all, thank you!!!,
I grew up on the history of the morgenstern family So I knew to give you the information I wrote you. Some of the family also came to visit my father's family. On the other hand, my father did not mention the family from the side I asked for your help. I would be very grateful if you would help me,Information about this aspect will increase the family tree significantly to my entire family

I merged Pinchos Leibsh with the profile of a great nephew of Admor Menachem Mendel Morgenstern, Kotzker Rebbe. His father had the same name R' Menachem Mendel Morgenstern of Lodz so that probably created the confusion.
Hatte Blejer you can update his profile overview.

thank you very much,What about perla? Was there really a child(of the kozker rebbe) in that name who married and had children?

3/17/2019 at 8:24 AM

It should be noted that my father did not mention this name, nor does any of the source say anything about it, which leads me to the conclusion that if they had a daughter with that name, she probably died as a baby (as happened to other children of the kozker rebbe)

3/17/2019 at 12:45 PM

Thank you Private User, that is what I suspected about Pinchas Leibish. Glad he got a home again.

I suspect, as Haim does, that Perla died young, without children. I'm waiting to hear back from the managers.

3/17/2019 at 12:56 PM

Apparently Perla is not mentioned in her father's death notice, which is further evidence that she died young.

cousin atte,Please, in order for the truth to come out, please remove her profile from the kozker rebbe profile and then, as you prefer or you open her profile with the year of birth,Without a date of death, or if you prefer, I will open her a profile

3/17/2019 at 1:11 PM

And I allow myself to thank you on behalf of all the descendants of reb Dovid Morgenstern for your wonderful work, and for the effort you invested in making the truth come true

3/17/2019 at 3:01 PM

There is a Morgensztern family in Brest-Litovsk, including a Perla b. 1901. I'm looking into the Siegal family to see if it's a confusion between the Belarus Morgensztern family and the Kotzker rabbi's family.

3/17/2019 at 3:04 PM

Perla Morgensztern b. 1842 Kock was a child of the rabbi and his wife Chaya. I won't remove the profile because it has better evidence than others actually.

I agree that she must have died in infancy or childhood because she is not mentioned in her father's death notice.

I am working on figuring out what to do with the family attached to her, but these are other fellow Geni users' family and I don't rush and detach until it's clear that the profile is attached in the wrong place. Please be patient. It's good you brought these issues up and together the Geni community will resolve them as best as is possible.

dear cousin hatte,

I thank you very much !!!
I'll wait patiently
