Robert Abernathy, of James River was being seen as son of George Abernathy, de Barrie & Unknown Abernathy without supporting evidence and has been disconnected with locked relationships.
In addition to the notes already in the profile, Rebecca Evans quotes:

I am sorry to burst your bubble, Ryan, but the George Abernethy who was Laird of Barrie is neither a unknown figure nor the father of the Robert Abernathy who is first found in Virginia in 1652.
Despite many years of intensive effort and no small costs on the part of many researchers, both professional and otherwise, not one shred of hard proof has yet surfaced to support the now widespread myth that George is Robert's father. Only unsupported claims that can NOT be proven.
The Barrie lands were rather remote from the ancient town of Abernethy near Perth: George's inheritance was in Moray, between the present-day Milltown of Rothiemay on the Deveron River and the town of Keith on the River Isla. "
