Augustus John Askew (1863-1933) is on Geni with 3 wives with similar names and some of his children have multiple mothers
1) Private (1868-1947) - no parents listed
2) Rosina Askew (1853-1893) - no parents listed
3) Rosina Minnie Askew (1868-1966)

Can anyone add any information on his wives?

His 3rd wife Rosina Minnie Askew has 2 sets of parents
* William Fielder Ingarfield (1825-1887) and Mary May Jeffery (1828-?)
* his son William Fielder Ingarfield (1858-?) and Anne Maria B Ingarfield (1855-?)

Can anyone add any information on her parents?

Judging by the conflict icon on one of the children, the date of birth of Florence suggests she does not fit into the family. Perhaps sorting her parentage out will resolve your problem of 2 sets of parents.

Re the Florence issue: I found her sister Rosina was not only shown as a daughter of Florence's parents, Rosina was also shown as a daughter of Florence's grand parents.
Moving Rosina to her duplicate in the correct generation solved one problem.

Rosina's married Augustus Askew as Minnie Ingarfield in Hampstead in 1894. (Source FreeBMD)
That suggests the couple may not be the parents of children born before then.

The marriage of Richard Wright was to a Minnie Askew, BUT IT WAS IN 1891 SO PREDATES Rosina's marriage to Augustus. (FreeBMD)

As the marriage to Richard Wright in 1891 predates the marriage where Minnie Ingarfield became Minnie Askew in 1894, it cannot be the same Minnie.

Minnie Askew should be on the UK 1891 census as Minnie Askew showing who her true parents were. I presume her father had Askew as a surname so they tcould not have been William and Mary Ingarfeld.

Augustus John Askew seems to have been previously married to a Rosina Walker in 1884. (FreeBMD) There is also a death that could be Rosdina Askew (nee Walker?) in Chelsea in 1893 (FreeBMD)

I think the researchers may have muddled Rosina Walker with Rosina Ingarfield who they write was also known as Minnie Ingarfield.

The solution would seem to be
Disconnecting Rosina / Minnie Ingarfield from Richard Wright,
Then putting in Rosina Walker as the first wife for Augustus John Askew,
Verifying that union and any children using the UK 1891 London census (Familysearch)
Finally, relocating the other children Minnie has that predate her marriage in 1894 and placing them with her husband and his first wife .

You will be left with a small tree containing the marriage of Richard Wright to Minnie Askew and their children. It may fit in with someone else's research.

Sorry, a few more bits to the Jigsaw.
Rosina Walker was already on the tree as a suggested first wife for Augustus, so I was able to confirm that and move the children to her.

I also discovered that Augustus John Askew had a sister Mini (Minnie?). whose birth year fits that of the spouse of the recently disconnected Richard Wright..
Their 1891 marriage also fitted with the birth years of their children.
So after being the disconnected from the wrong spouse, Richard Wright and children can be reconnected to Augustus John Askew's sibling Mini (Minnie?) Askew.

The tree now calls for someone with curator-ive powers to do their magic and undertake some cosmetic tidying.

CORRECTION
I have continued finding a number of rather basic conflicts / errors in this tree which means that I have to ask you to revise a previous suggestion.

I wrote that Augustus John Askew had a sister Minnie Askew. whose birth year was right for her to also be the spouse of Richard Wright, and suggested once you had disconnected Richard from the wrong Minnie, you then connect him to her.
DO NOT DO THAT RECONNECTION (There is no dual family connection)
The correct Minney Askew has now been positively identified so

Proof
In the extract from the 1911 UK census below, the correct Minney Wright nee Askew (wife of Richard Wright) has her widowed father William Askew living with the family, and the trees on Geni show William WAS NOT the father of Augustus John Askew, nor his sister Minnie Askew. (Their father was John)

Richard Wright Head M 42 Maldon St Mary, Essex
Minnie Wright Wife F 40 Maldon St Mary, Essex
Minnie Wright Dhter F 18 Maldon St Peters, Essex
Arthur R Wright Son M 15 Maldon St Marys, Essex
Alice Q Wright Dhter F 10 Maldon St Marys, Essex
Constance Wright Dtr F 8 Maldon St Marys, Essex
Care Wright Son M 7 Maldon St Marys, Essex
Charley Wright Son M 3 Maldon St Marys, Essex
William Askew Father-in-law M 82 Tolleshunt Drey, Essex

I have therefore created a new profile for Richard Wright's correct wife (also a Minney Askew) and added profiles for her parents and her siblings using the 1881 census as a guide.

Willm Askew Head M 55 Darcey, Essex, England
Emma Askew Wife F 51 Maldon, Essex, England
Saml Askew Son M 25 Maldon, Essex, England
Abraham Askew Son M 12 Maldon, Essex, England
Minney Askew Dhter F 10 Maldon, Essex, England
Thomas Askew Son M 6 Maldon, Essex, England

THE ONLY THING I CANNOT DO IS disconnect Richard Wright from the other Minney Askew nee Ingarfield (whose profile has her portrait in it).
CAN YOU DO THAT?

Roy

This may have got overlooked.

The only thing I could not do is disconnect Richard Wright from Minney Askew nee Ingarfield (hers is the profile with a portrait in it).
Please could you do that Leanne?

I know that it will produce a tree split. but that is better than just discarding the other research.

hope this info helps

cheers tom

Hi Tom
I got the disconnections done, so I now believe the disconnected tree(s) as they now are on Geni, are correct.
The confusion was two Minnies. One was born a Minnie Askew, the other was a Minnie Ingafield whose first husband was an Askew, so she remarried as an Askew

The confusion was then compounded in the census when one Minnie inherited the children from her husbands first marriage. To the untrained eye it looked like she was the birth mother of all of them. Compare your tree with the tree now on Geni, and if there are any difficulties, I am happy to talk you through them.

Regards Roy

Hi again Tom
Your tree had some errors

I would firstly like to take the Minnie Askew who married Richard Wright out of the equation. This is a link to her tree on Geni. Ther is no problem there

https://www.geni.com/family-tree/index/6000000089124307870.

Next you have to identify the first and second wives of Augustus John Askew.
They were Rosina Minnie Walker who he married in 1884 and Minnie Ingafield who he married in 1894. (Proof on FreeBMD)
Rosina died in 1893 so she was the mother of children born before then
Children born after 1894 are Minnie Ingafields.

I have altered your tree to show this.

Roy
