William Partridge, of Wisbanger - Incorrect information?

We received the following information from the spouse of a descendant -- forwarding for your consideration:

This states that son William was member of parliament Rochester in Kent. This is an error which I think comes from C H Partridges book of the history of the Partridge Family. If you open "the history of Parliament" website and search "William Partridge M P for Rochester" you will see that this William died 1598, but William of Wishanger died 1573, some 20 years before the MP.

I have also not been able to confirm the relationship between Sir Miles Partridge and William of Wishanger, of whom you say are brothers.. My wife was born a Partridge, and is a direct descendant of William of Wishanger and we would like to be able to make the relationship between Sir Miles and William. The "Visitations of Gloucestershire" only comment that they are "said" to be related.
