Yes, I am related to Miho.. I am also aware that Miho and Mijo are both shortened forms of Mihovil (or Mijovil).
Mijo and Miho are both pronounced the same way - just different spellings.

Anyway, the reason I posted was because I noticed next to the name it said "Italy" and I know that is incorrect. Miho Vujnovic' (also spelled "Vujnovich) is an ancestor of Mine. I am a descendant of his, and many in my family have the same name. I have been working on a family tree since June of 2018 and have been able to trace back as far as the 1700's, thanks to "Geni". I really appreciate the information that is made available on this site.

Mijo and Miho are pronounced differently. Croatian language is phonetic, so it it is written differently, it is pronounced differently. There is also Mihovio, but as you said, those are just versions of the same name.

Mijo - "'j'' is pronounced similar to Y in Joy
Miho - ''h'' is pronounced like h in house

Geni has option to enter names in multiple language.
Under the names you can see Italian version of the name, as very often Croatian church books were written in Italian, in particular coastal regions and islands. It is not to say that he was from Italy, just to provide the version of his name you might find in church books.

Thank you for that correction. You are right, they are pronounced differently, the "j" is pronounced as "y" . I had almost forgotten that. I took a Croatian course when I was a child (years ago)
