Hi All - I am trying to transcribe an audio tape that my grandmother left, describing her last days before she left Grodno (city) for America. She stayed with her Aunt. She said her Aunt was married to a Rabbi. He was called (this is the part I can't understand?) something like the "Ashish Care, Rosh Yeshivah". She said he used to prepare students to become Rabbis. Does anyone know what these terms or names might actually be? Thank you in advance for any help.
Best,
Judy

Hi Judy, until a Hebrew or Yiddish speaker comes along to add some info - Your grandmother's uncle was the head (rosh) of a school (yeshiva). You can find a list of yeshiva's in Grodno here: https://www.jewishgen.org/Yizkor/grodno/grodno.html

Bet youre looking for something that is similar in name, neighborhood or street name to 'Ashish Care.' Aish, means Fire, as in the organizations taking the name, Aish HaTorah.

Now ya just wait for someone who knows about this stuff to show up. Good luck.

Thank you!

Hello
Can I ask to hear the recording?
Can I write in Hebrew?

The point is, my grandfather also left Gordono for America.
