Jan Nel (b10c2d4) – One Person or Two People?

(For those with a keen interest in this branch of the Nel Tree).

I recently did some amateur research work with respect to Jan Nel (b10c2d4) and feel that a somewhat significant mistake in the Nel tree ought to be corrected.

I wish to share my notes with more experienced genealogists for comment and critique.

Hi Nico,

I think your research document is excellent and in a format which we all can employ for many profiles.

I agree with your conclusion that there were 2 different d3 and d4 Nel sons, and specifically that Johannes d3 married VAN DER VYVER, and Jan d4 that xx BECK.

From my experience, it was common to talk about Johannes as Jan, but based on your research I believe these two brothers were the exception to the rule. Yes the clear CRUX of the matter is that d3 and his wife VD VYVER was present at the baptism of the child of d4 and Beck! :)
