I have not been able to confirm a link between Capt. William Bowne and Anthony Bowne/Jane Radcliff,

Best I can tell, the child of Anthony Bowne (!st Count of Montague) and Jane Radclilffe named Anthony is: Anthony Browne (22 July 1552 – 29 June 1592) was Sheriff of Surrey and of Kent in 1580. He married Mary Dormer in 1572 and had the following issue: Anthony-Maria Browne, 2nd Viscount Montagu, John, Dorothy, Jane and Catherine. Also, the Anthony Bowne (1st Count of Montague) had a birthdate around 1528, seems odd to have had a child around 1570.

Sources:
G. E. Cokayne, ed. Geoffrey H. White, The Complete Peerage vol. XII, part I (London: St Catherine Press, 1953), p. 127; Richardson III 2011, p. 228.
Stopes, Charlotte Carmichael (1922). The Life of Henry, Third Earl of Southampton, Shakespeare's Patron. Cambridge: Cambridge University Press, p. 3.

The connections definitely need to be confirmed so Geni pathways including this family are correct.

I am also not seeing any quality sources that connect the two. Notice that the death of Anthony (1592) is also before the estimated birth date of William.

His bio on Wikitree, citing Anderson's Great Migration, is quite clear that William Browne's origins are unknown. "His origins in England are not known; based on the origin of the ship he traveled on, it is likely that he was from the west country of England." I have therefore disconnected Capt. William Bowne from Anthony.

Seems like we also have Thomas Bowne of Flushing, NY as a son of Sir Anthony Browne (1552–1592), but in this case they seem to be confusing two different Anthony Brownes. The father of Thomas is claimed to be Anthony Browne, a farmer in Matlock, England. https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Bowne-26

Thanks for that disconnect and the notes you put in William's profile, Tamas. It would save all of us so much time and frustration if people would just not connect unproven parents to the lines. lol Wishful thinking, obviously. I appreciate your help, as always

I'm not a direct descendant of these folks, so not familiar with their lines. They just came up as an inlaw connection when I was tracing a line. Heather who had started a discussion last year seems to question the two Anthonys, Her post was done in Jan. 2019, as you can see, and she never got any response from other profile managers. So I'm happy to see you are sorting them out.
