Where are the musicians? Especially classical performers...

You can add Australian musicians to the project

I have enought trouble filling in my own ancestors details but it is typical that the only so called artists that have been included are those pushed by TV and media and real artistic values are suppressed even by the ABC who spends hours and hours on worthless „rage“ programs imstead of broadcasting the MSO or SSO or other Australian culturally valuable concerts. How can we justify glorifying the howling and screaming that is rewarded by x-factor and the voice type TV shows when hardly any of them has the faintest idea how to sing. The worst thing is that it de-educates the children and deprives them of the values of real art. WHAT IS WRONG WITH BACH, MOZART, SCHÖNBERG OR RAVEL?
By the way did you know that Ravel applied for a job at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music but didn‘t get it. Somebody by the name of Joseph Post got the post! What a pitty, could you immagine how proud we would be if we could claim Ravel as an Australian Composer instead of having to do with Percy Granger before real composers like Sculthorpe and Boyd arrived much later and where are they in the Australian Project?

I wasn’t aware that Bach or Mozart were Australian artists but it is not my area of expertise.

You can add artists to the project yourself rather than complaining that others are not adding them.

i didnt say they were but the ABC is and they waste public money on playing lots of rubbish stuff that is not Australian and has nothing to do with culture just fashionable vulgar and musically mostly so primitive it doesnt deserve to be considered music.
What about Tom Roberts, Arthur Streeton etc. are they not important Australian artists?
I am not critical about this extensive task to compile Leanne but an organisation calling itself Australian Artists Association should be more comprehensive and musicians are artists not entertainers

I think your complaint would be better sent to the ABC and to the Australian Artists Association rather than to genealogists.

Thomas, I really don't understand why you are complaining to users of Geni about the Australian Artists Association.

As far as I know, the 9 Geni users who are part of this project have no involvement with the Australian Artists Association.

I will see if someone can remove the photo of the Australian Artists Association from the project.

I‘m sorry I don‘t mean to be subversive but I am sick of so called “organisations” that pretend to be competently representing agroup of outstanding people but fail to recognise who is an artist and who is not!
