I have a Turnbull in my family tree, my mother-in-law's grandmother.
Her name was Elizabeth Margaret Turnbull, b. 30 November 1904 - d. 1954 in Umthatha.
Not sure if she was born in South Africa or if her family came here from England.
Her father was George Davidson Thomas Turnbull - possibly b.1883 - 1920 in Pretoria. If the one match suggestion is correct, he married an Annie Catharina Vermeulen. And apart from Elizabeth had a son also called George Davidson Thomas Turnbull (b.1905) (He possibly married a Cornelia Maria Malan).
Elizabeth married a Johannes Petrus Mattheé (b.1903 - d. 1970). They had 9 children of which one was also called George Davidson Thomas (Mattheé).
Also, one of the Georges worked as an entertainer for Pringle Circus and the Boswell (Wilkie)Circus.
Any help, please?
I would really like to know if these Turnbulls were English or Scottish Turnbulls.
