You only add a jr or sr suffix if there is sources telling that they used it. Please do not fabricate facts, - most people are able to see the difference in dates siblings and parents.

Yes, - it says common way as an explanation of jr and sr, but in Denmark where this person lived they would not have used the english terms, so adding it would be a history falsification unless you have sources for that.

It actually is much ado about a great deal.

This is not an American tree.

The Geni Tree spans the globe, and centuries.

There are myriad languages, and myriad customs.

We don’t use American usage in the Scandinavian branches, just as we don’t use 21st century usage in the medieval branches.

This is often hard to maintain!

But it is not only respectful, it gives us all the opportunity to learn about the other branches and their customs.

If the Scandinavian curators and users were to tell me that the American custom I was putting into a profile was not acceptable to them, I would take it very seriously.

This isn’t speculative. My grandfather was Norwegian. I put my Norwegian lines in, and over time, the Norwegians have fixed things to their liking.

This is only right.

I agree with Anne and Bjorn. If this is to be a true world tree we can not be imposing Americanisms on the rest of the world. We try very hard to keep that from occurring in the Welsh lines.
