Good day all.
I'm trying to find info on my grandfather, JOHN HENDRIK DE LANGE, born circa 1924.
His mother was Elizabeth Susarah (born Van Schalkwyk)
I found him by marriage to my grandmother (record in archives). They were married for a very short period in 1943, culminating in an illiquid case divorce.
This divorce document is the only verified information I have.
I have a list of his children with his possible second wife, Johanna Elizabeth (born Van Rooyen).
They were married in Lichtenburg on 3 May 1947.
What I'd really like to find out is who his parents were, so I can verify and complete my ancestry going backwards.
I've scoured through hundreds of the (unindexed) records on familysearch, covering 3 geographic regions, and have found only a marriage register and one child's baptism (in Ned Herv Kerk).
I've been all over the internet as far as I can go with free accounts..
Any information or assistance will be greatly appreciated.
