I have questions about the parents of James Varner. In the book "A Compilation of the Original Lists of Protestant Immigrants to South Carolina 1763 to 1773", page 121, meeting January 6, 1773, is a list of recent immigrants from Ireland and the acreage to which they were awarded. James Varner is listed on page 123 as part of this group getting 300 acres. I have thought that this was likely the father of James Varner born in Spartansburg S.C. and moved and lived out this life in Hamilton Co. TN. He is my 5th g-grandfather.
