Alafair, the wife of Thomas Stambaugh was Alafair Daniel(s), daughter of Thomas Fleming Daniel and Mary Jane Brown. She is listed in the 1880 census in Hoods Fork, Johnson, Kentucky, USA with her parents. This is confirmed in the U.S., Social Security Applications and Claims Index, 1936-2007 for her son Martin Luther Stambaugh. Also, my great uncle, Samuel Everett Caudill, documented her parents as Thomas & Mary Jane in the booklet that he wrote about the Caudills. Amanda, the wife of Martin Luther Stambaugh was the half sister of Samuel Everett Caudill, so he probably knew this information first hand..
