After 1638 only a city could appoint a procurator.

We do not know when he was appointed.

His father was mayor of Tronheim.

His son was a state minister in Bergen, famous in our family for being exiled to Karlsoy for taking up with a young girl (we hope he was able to take her with him). He is known as "the black sheep of the family".
His ancestor was Foged of Gudbrandsdal. Because our tradition was that he was a "state minister", by this we thought it meant prest (priest). After all, his ancestors were prests and soneprests. The fact he was a procurator is new to us! But it makes sense. these folks were administrators from Denmark. We are still searching bygdeboks for mentions of Grams.
