Just thought I should add the following to the Olckers website. Johann Braun Olkers was said to have come from Rendsburg in Germany in the mid 1700's. At the time Rendsburg (or Rendsborg) was actually part of Denmark. It was only annexed into Germany in 1866 after the 1864 German-Danish war. So too be factually true to the Olckers family line, we are essentially a Danish family and not German. I had my DNA analyzed and the results show zero Western Europe (German) ancestry but does show 47% Scandinavian (Danish).
