This is confusing to me. I’ve seen it as
1. John Lewis + Lydia
2. John Lewis + Isabella Miller
3. John Lewis + Elizabeth Warner, no son Thomas
Example: http://www.palmspringsbum.org/genealogy/getperson.php?personID=I493...
So can you provide more details on this family you describe as
John Lewis + Elizabeth O'Brissell
Thomas Lewis + ??
There are multiple John Lewis individuals in the same area at the same time and they are not all related.
You are correct it is very confusing.
What I am asking is that the various people in charge of these listings on Geni get together and sort out a single accepted path for all these John Lewis individuals rather than having multiple conflicting posts on Geni.
Unfortunately there are a fair amount of inactive managers on Geni, but yes, we’re asking for exactly that - and historical expertise at the “tree tops.”
Posting Geni profiles in discussion sends a notification to profile managers and followers, so the more we do that, the more “noise” we make to “come help straighten this out.”
General Robert Lewis is the son of Sir Edward Lewis of Van and the proper descent to Warner Lewis Hall

Sorry, no, Lewis, it's bogus, at least as far as Warner Hall goes. The tombstone of the Warner Hall progenitor was found back in the late 1940s - and he was a John Lewis from Monmouthshire. No Robert, no General, no Breconshire. (*His* father was a Lewis ap Richard, and our own Anne Brannen did a deep dive into his ancestry.)
"General Robert Lewis" was an old bad Wild Mass Guess back when nobody knew anything, and it got into print, and it spread like wildfire (of course). But it is wrong.
Apparently there's a different Lewis family that traces back to General Robert, and that's not even the only other Lewis family in colonial Virginia, nor the only immigrant Robert Lewis. That's what makes sorting them all out so difficult.
