Does anyone have a copy of document about how the Lovins/Lovinksy family fled Russia from the pogroms in the 1880s and immigrated to New York City? I remember as a young girl seeing a story of how Isaac and Dora came to New York City, via Hamburg, after fleeing persecution in Kiev. It was a thick document that circulated the family, but now this document is lost. It told the story of how they escaped Russia and came to NY with gold coins sewn into their clothes. Upon arriving, they were swindled of all their money. Isaac and Deborah (Dora) became pharmacists of in those days, they were known as "Druggists." In Kiev, they owned an inn. But this is all I know. Please share any documentation or photos please!
