On her Social Security Application, Anna gives her father's name as "Hirsh Serensky" -- and place of birth as "Russia Grodno Grodno"

On his 1927 Will, the brother of Anna's mother gives the surname of Anna's mother as "Serenski" (and says, referring to Anna's mother, "of the City of Grodno, in Poland")

On the 1928 NY Arrival as Anna Baran, her place of birth is given as Country: Poland, City or Town: Sokolki

This seems to give two definitely different Birth Locations - Grodno or Sokolki
And two minor variations on the Birth Surname -- "Serensky" and "Serenski" .

Private User - Can you provide Documentation and/or an explanation for your choices?

You changed both yesterday (11/3/2018). I assume you had a reason for doing so. Please share the reasons here.

You changed Birth Surname to "Sereisky" and Birth Location to "Sokolka, Sokolka District, Grodno Gubernia, Russia"

What documentation do you have that Anna's Birth Surname was "Sereisky" ?

And - anyone else with information, and/or rationale for which Birth Location to choose, etc., please also comment.

I am clearly mistaken as to how she spelled her maiden name but the "Sokolki" on the passenger manifest is the district town of "Sokolka".

On the geneology chart I constructed with input from my grandfather (Morris Baran) he referred to my grandmother and her siblings as Serensky but to their father as Herschel Sereisky. He also referred to his mother (my grandmother’s aunt) as Pecha Sereisky.

My grandparents always referred to their hometown as Grodno!
