Jacob van Straten, b1 - @Jacob van Straten - Age and parents

I suppose the question must be;

Is he the Jacob that married Sara Catharina Erasmus b. 13/8/1769, and whose eldest child was Jacob Abraham van Straaten b. 1789 - my ancestor is the next one Willem Jacobus van Straaten 1790-1862.

Who was the Jacob born in 1838, and who were his children

https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:VRLS-THP shows Jacob VAN DER STRATEN born 1738 to Jan and Maria CLAASZ. Doubt that this is the same person who married Sara Catharina Erasmus in 1786 and went on to have 12 or 13 children !!!

I am more inclined to believe Jacob VAN DER STRATEN (1738) maybe the same person as the husband of Catharina VAN AARDT and therefore father of Jacob (Sara's husband) ... but proof required.

By the way ... Abraham Stephanus (baptized 1 Nov 1789) is the next child after Jacob Abraham (baptized 28 Oct 1787) and before your Willem Jacobus (baptized 23 Sep 1791)

Yep.The way I sequenced it was:
Jacob 1738 m1 28.11.1762 Martha van Aardt - no children, but had a child (Jacob 1764) by Catharina her sister. Jacob 1764 m. Sara Erasmus. The death notice you found ties it up quite neatly and leaves no doubt that Jacob 1764 is son of Jacob 1738.

Interestingly Jacob 1738 perhaps also married Adriana Smit and had the son Petrus.
