My uncle, a male Estabrook has tested his DNA and learned he is a member of the paternal haplogroup - I-Z58 which is a subgroup of I-M253.
Has anyone else tested their DNA? It would be interesting to learn if the haplogroup could be confirmed back to this depth. My understanding is that three men would all need to have the same haplogroup and then you could confirm back to the most recent common ancestor. I was able to do this on my last name, Lavoie back to our original ancestor to Canada. It took three of us connecting back to our original ancestor to do so.
I'll get him to upload his results if it looks like it may be a possibility here or over at WikiTree.
