A final legal notice appeared in the News and Observer last week stating NC State University's intention of removing the graves of Colonel Theophilus Hunter and up to 17 others in the cemetery at Spring Hill on the State-owned portion of the Dorothea Dix campus at 705 Barbour Dr, Raleigh, North Carolina.
If you would like to support the campaign to stop the removal and ask the University to erect a fence around the graves, erect a sign with information about who is buried there and what effect they had on the surrounding land, and maintain the cemetery in perpetuity. To be a part of the legal record, letters should be sent to the address in the ad: S. Teal, New South Associates, 1006 Yanceyville St, Greensboro NC 27405.
