As I understand it, Germany had rid itself of slavery by the time Barsheba was born. In all likelihood, she was a servant in a household. Is there documentation that she was married to Johann? I would love to learn more about her as she is my 4th Great Grandmother. I believe that my African ancestry is from this woman.
