Gen. Daniel Harvey Hill, was the youngest son of Solomon Hill and Nancy Cabeen Hill of York, South Carolina. He was the grandson of Col. William Hill and Jane McCall Hill of York, South Carolina, who was commander of the York County, SC, militia troops in the Revolutionary War against Gen. Cornwallis's British Troops.
