I have a document from a great-aunt that tracks my Peairs ancestors
back to Richard Pearce, husband of Susanna Wright. This document is
based on a genealogy written by C. A. Peairs, which appeared in "The
Detroit Society for Genealogical Research Magazine", vol. 19, p. 11
(1955). I don't have this journal volume, but believe the document I
have is a close transcription of what appears in the journal. If I
were to follow this document, I wouuld merge these profiles:
(A) William Pearce (1661-1720)
William Pearce
(B) William Pearce (1617-1683)
William Pearce
and then fix dates to agree with (A) while keeping the descendant
info from (B).
The dates associated with (B) are unlikely: Hannah Pearce would have
to give birth at age 61 and then live to 105.
I'm hesitant to do this myself since I can see there's been a lot of
discussion around bad research on Richard Pearce, and I would have to
trust that the document I have is accurate. Any thoughts on the best
way to proceed? I could upload my doc, and I might be able to order
the journal volume it's based on, if these things would help.
Erica Howton Thanks for input and any future help. I added the doc to Sources, with a reference to original. Didn't mention in Overview yet, since not sure how/where to add and what comments were appropriate at this stage.
