Lili was a sweet lady who married late to my uncle Imre Balazs, who was regarded as a permanent bachelor. She miscarried on the day before the German occupation of Hungary and I visited her next day on 19th March 1944 when I saw German trucks with soldiers and German tanks on the streets of Budapest.. She never had another pregnancy.
Lili outlived Imre by four years and lived with her sister Elisabeth (Erzsebet, photographer) who lost her husband in Russia while being in a Hungarian forced labour camp.
My mother flew from England to see her a few days before she passed away..
