Just spent a number of frustrating minutes trying to resurrect Flash after the latest Firefox update trashed it again. No dice. I think they have finally trashed it for keeps.

This means that 1) the Curators are going to see a MASSIVE increase in their work load as Pros discover they can no longer simply Move profiles to correct them (Geni has NEVER implemented that function in HTML5), and 2) Tech Support needs to get it in gear and add ALL the missing functionality TO HTML5 - *especially* the Move function,

Yes I have already filed a ticket with the Help Desk. I am not confident of their ability to move on this issue without being pressured.

The curators are already testing the next update which includes Move. I don't now the release date.

CHROME is about to strangle Flash too, so Geni Tech Support needs to move FAST.

Nah, that was Chromes plan already to do in 2016, but they did not.

They mean it this time - as of Sept 4 anyone using Chrome will *always* have to enable Flash *every* time for *every* page. They're hoping the annoyance factor will drive people away from Flash, And they're dropping it altogether in 2020.

They think they can get away with it now because so few websites are still using Flash. Geni *had better not be among them* any longer than it can possibly help.

We released the "move" feature for the HTML tree, last week. It's on the More menu on the side panel. (works on phones and tablets, too!)

Good to know. The HTML tree is still clunky and slow by comparison, though. Needs more work, and time's beginning to run out.

Note: *Adobe* is dropping Flash support in 2020. Chrome has generally stopped its gradual raising of the aggression level against it after Adobe gave it a drop-dead date.

Once it's not supported by Adobe any more, I guess everyone (including Chrome) will drop it like a hot potato.
