I am curious how many have an oral tradition of Native American ancestry. I have met one other person with this DNA and who also was tested to determine if Native American could be proved. There are papers describing this situation and some acceptance this mtDNA could be associated with Native American. Their belief is an early European arriver to North America was brought into a tribe. My grandmother had all the features you would expect as half. My g-grandmother and her sibling looked full blood and in late 1800's, they were on the OK reservation. Some even stayed in OK and received land.
I had hoped my mtDNA would prove my maternal family heritage but the result only adds more questions.
