My Ancestors In Catania/Messina, Sicily

According to Family Search, a Luigi D'Ambra Ragonese, born 1891arrived at Ellis Island, New York on 26 May 1898. Residence listed as Riposto. He was 7 years old, so was obviouslt accompanied by an adult. Per New York Passenger Arrival Lists 1892-1924

In 1916, a Luigi Ragionese became a naturalized American citizen in Connecticut according to New England Petitions for Naturalization Index 1791-1906

There may be an Illinois Death Certificate at Chicago Cook County, IL 3 May 1945, but it is last name only. It does, however show the names of the parents as Dan Ragonese and Genevieve Pauline Eatto

There is also a 34 year old woman named Angela Ragnanese, born 3 Dec 1906 in Italy, who immigrated at New York on 6 May 1930

Hope some of that will help. You will need to search for records in more than one place, such as Family Search, Ancestry, and Wiki. Also, it is very common for the spelling of names to change as they were spoken more than written, so are often phonetic.

I do not think that immigration record is him because he was born in 1891 and would not have been 7 then. That death record is not him because he died in 1930, in New York. here is him and his wife listed in the naturalization record i know of.

I am mostly having trouble locating Luigi's parents in Italy, and his birth/baptism record.

Sorry for my misunderstanding, he arrived in 1898, that record could be right.
