Loizes HadjiNikolas and Ioustinee HadjiNikolas Families ( 1825 - 1901 )
The subjects of these families are two of the children of Savas
HadjiNikolas and their descendants. The descendants of Loizes
HadjiNikolas provided much of the traditional information about
HadjiNikolas and his descendants that were passed down from generation
to generation. These families were actively involved in the continuing
operation of the various local business activities in Cyprus and with other
countries. These activities included the operation of mills for grinding flour
and for the pressing of olives to make olive oil. As these families
increased in size, the assets were divided among the descendants.
The descendants of Ioustinee HadjiNikolas were also involved in the
continuation of the various business activities. Her first daughter, Marikou,
was a major participant in the activities of the family enterprises.
Descendants of this family also provided much of the information that
identified the relationships between the ancestors of this family.
Marikou HadjiNikolas married Christodoulos Spourdis and had eight
children, one of which was Kalliope Spourdis, the mother of the
Harmandas children. Thus all of the direct descendants from Savas
HadjiNikolas to Harmandas were all female.
