I've got a theory about my wife's family being related to the Ball family in early Nelson history..

I have not done a DNA test.
My Grandmother on my Fathers side was Mary Mabel Ball 1887-1959.

Geni has you related to me through my Mothers side as my great uncle's aunt's husband's first cousin thrice removed's husband.

Thanks Paul. I see that existing connection in geni between yourself and my wife but I suspect you are much more closely related to Juliette. Have any of your family members taken a genealogy dna test either? If you ever take the plunge I would recommend you go with the ftdna.com or myheritage.com autosomal tests as these companys use the more convenient cotton bud swab method rather than the spit in a tube method. Then once they have processed your results you can download them and upload the data to geni.com and gedmatch.com for free and connect with the biggest pools of genealogists :)
