Henry Town was born 1809 and died 1870

He is on Geni with 2 fathers
* Thomas Town born 1772 died 1843
* Thomas Town born 1737

There is also another Thomas Town Thomas Town that appears to be duplicated

Can anyone add any information on this family?

And here is another duplicate Thomas Town

Jane Town is on Geni as the daughter of Thomas Town and Sarah Town (Short) - Chamber maid for King George III Brighton summer palace

She has 2 husbands

Husband 1 Thomas Town is on Geni with the same parents Thomas Town and Sarah Town (Short) - Chamber maid for King George III Brighton summer palace

Husband 2 Thomas Town also has the same mother Sarah Town (Short) - Chamber maid for King George III Brighton summer palace

Queries
If her birth name is LONGLEY - how are her parents TOWN and SHORT?
Did she marry her biological brother?

Leanne:
There are several "Henry" Towns. theHenry (1809-1870) should have as his father Thomas (1772-1843). It is the Thomas Town who is his father that I am convinced was a bastard son of King George III and Sarah Short.
This is where the information gets muddied. Sarah Short was married to Thomas (1737-1809) at the time of Thomas' (1772-1843) [and Mary and Elizabeth's] birth.
There is no provenance for this, only my strong conviction and too many co-incidences.
The Jane, daughter of Thomas (1772-1843) was born 1800. But Thomas (1772-1843) was married to Jane Longley-no birth date and she has only one husband, Thomas.Jane (1800- ) has a husband, Robert Emery, no dates and is the sister of Henry (1809-1870) And here comes another confusing part. Henry was married to Harriet Daughtrey (1814-1900) who "was born Burrows or Burroughs". His son Thomas (1834-1911) was married to a Harriet Burrows (1932- ). Thomas (1834-1911) had a second wife, Maria Keifhaber.
The Thomas (1737-1809) you mention has parents John (1691- ) and Anne Cook (1702- ) and grand parents William Town (165801992) and Elizabeth Asherden (1660-1692). and that is as far back as I go.
From this part forward the data seems to fit and be less confusing.
Perhaps you could help sort this information out.

Hi,
Henry Town (1809-1870) is now the son of Thomas Town (1772-1843) and Jane Town (no dates)

Re "The Jane, daughter of Thomas (1772-1843) was born 1800. But Thomas (1772-1843) was married to Jane Longley-no birth date and she has only one husband, Thomas.Jane (1800- ) has a husband, Robert Emery, no dates and is the sister of Henry (1809-1870) "
There is currently no Jane as the daughter of Thomas TOWN 1772-1843 and Jane LONGLEY. You will need to add her and her husband into Geni

Re "And here comes another confusing part. Henry was married to Harriet Daughtrey (1814-1900) who "was born Burrows or Burroughs". His son Thomas (1834-1911) was married to a Harriet Burrows (1932- )."
Henry Town wife Harriet Burrows - Town was married twice, her second husband was John Burrows
His son Thomas Charles Town has 2 wives Harriet Town (1814-1900) and Maria Kiefhaber
Kimberly Louise Fraser, can you add any information on Harriet Town regarding her name Dougherty or Burroughs?

With regards to Thomas Town being the illegitimate son of Sarah Town (Short) - Chamber maid for King George III Brighton summer palace and George III, King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland - I would suggest starting a discussion from King George's profile and adding your evidence into the discussion.

Thanks
Leanne

I found Jane TOWN - she was attached as Thomas TOWN's sister rather than his daughter.

More care needs to be taken in this area of the tree when adding profiles to ensure that they are being attached to the correct profiles rather than profiles with similar names.

Leanne: Is this profile fixed now? It looks fine to me on my FTM (which is easier to access than WikiTree--so I have not checked the WikiTree file.

Current Status

Henry Town - fixed has only 1 set of parents

Jane Town - fixed has only 1 husband and has no parents

Harriet Town - there is still a possible error here as she is 20 years older than her husband and 58 when her last child was born. I think her birth date and death date have been added incorrectly as they are the same as Harriet Burrows - Town (her husbands mother)

Harriet Town - wife of Thomas Charles Town has been updated, birth year 1831 based on 1881 census & maiden name of Davis identified from English marriage registration index.

George III was the odd one out among Hanover males. All the others (and there were many) were Tireless Tomcats forever on the prowl - but not George. He took his marriage vows very seriously, and kept them scrupulously - no mistresses, no illegitimate children, not a breath of sexual scandal.

George, however, had two living younger brothers in 1771-72 who probably wouldn't have hesitated to take advantage of a chambermaid: HRH Prince William Henry, Duke of Gloucester & Edinburgh or Prince Henry, Duke of Cumberland. Both of them were notorious rakes.
